A new payments start-up will be launched next week. The new company known as CashStar with a $4 million funding that will be focused on interactive gift card and incentives is a sister company of the popular Coupons, Inc. The CEO of the start-up David Stone was a creator of the original American Express Gift Check and now he has offers new ideas for the retail payment sector.
CashStar will be offering alternative payment methods to consumers and retailers as an everyday means of sending, or “e-gifting,” payments to individuals via the Internet. Initially the company will introduce its “interactive gift card”, powered by CashStar’s industry leading e-gifting platform. CashStar's secure bar-coded printable interactive gift card service enables customers to easily email and print out gift cards on demand for use in stores or redeem them online.
CashStar e-gifting platform allows merchants to add promotions, incentives, rewards, etc. to both the sender and the recipient. At the moment CashStar is live with the three brands – Uno Chicago Grill, Travelocity and Gorham Bike and Ski and it is currently in negotiations with some big brands.
