20 PERCENT DISCOUNT ON TURBOTAX PRODUCTS

MasterCard announced on Monday its new promotion, in collaboration with Official Payments Corp. a wholly owned subsidiary of Tier Technologies Inc. and the leading provider of electronic payment services to government entities, that will allow consumers to save 20% on any TurboTax OnlineSM federal tax preparation product purchased with a MasterCard card while filing and paying their taxes conveniently and with no difficulties. MasterCard cardholders can also receive a 10% savings on Desktop Downloads and TurboTax Business Downloads.

The program also enables consumers to earn the rewards and benefits that come along with using their MasterCard card, reduce concerns associated with last minute filings and eliminate the need to stand in line at the post office.

According to the Internal Revenue Service report, in 2008 90 million taxpayers filed their taxes online, compared with 80 million in 2007. The current replacement of cash and checks by payment cards is obvious as taxpayers are taking advantage of the convenience of filing and paying taxes online.
