According to the Reuters report, on Wednesday the Twitter co-founder announced the company is not for sale, answering the mentioned rumors about Google's, Microsoft's and Apple's interest in purchasing the company.
Replying the question about the possibility for Twitter to be sold, the co-founder stated, that the company is too young, just two years old, and there is still so much to do for the further development.
Since Twitter turned down a $500 million acquisition offer by social networking Facebook the company has been the subject of takeover speculation.
According to Nielsen Online, estimating Internet traffic, Twitter's website had more than 7 million unique visitors in February, compared to 475,000 the same month in 2008. This year Twitter is focusing on monetizing the service.
